I am so excited to share Andrew and Maralee's wedding! I spent some time with them last summer on Maralee's birthday taking some sweet engagement pics. They are so easy to photograph because they ooze love for each other - OOZE. After being around these two it makes me want to curl up with my husband and watch a good rom-com. Maralee is straight up gorgeous, sweet, and smart. Great catch, Andrew! ;) The ceremony was so perfect and unique. Plus, HELLO, gorgeous setting! The whole day felt like a fairytale. YAY! Andrew and Maralee are MARRIED! Some times I ask my couples to stand next to weird things like garbage cans while I freak out over gorgeous lighting. And the results are always worth it. Magical. I love all the detail Maralee put into her day and THEIR RINGS are so personalized. Andrew and Maralee's wedding band, The Chozen Few, was stellar. They kept the energy high and the guests on their feet. Check it out, the pictures speak for themselves. Andrew and Maralee, I am such a fan of your love. It is contagious and obvious. You are a welcoming couple and you make others around you feel that they belong. A huge thank you for trusting me with this important day. I am forever grateful I got to capture the start of this story. Hair by: Mary Rose Colucci Makeup Artist: Jen Melia Cake: Clarencedale Cakes Wedding Dress By: David's Bridal Tux Rental: American Commodore Band: The Chozen Few Band Ceremony/Reception Site: Drake's Landing What was the most memorable moment of the day?
Maralee: One moment when Andrew and I stepped away from the dancing and the guests, and I saw how perfectly my visions and plans had come to life. The beautiful blue lanterns in the dark room were surreal, the guests were beaming, the band infused such a beautiful soul into the atmosphere, and nothing could have been more perfect. It was the exact revelation I had been dreaming about since my first inspiration. Andrew: I was a little nervous standing at the altar, waiting for the ceremony to begin until I saw Maralee walk out the doors. Seeing her face took all of my nerves away and helped me remember the night was about us. Any advice for future brides/grooms? For all my fellow perfectionists, workaholics and detail-lovers: Your inspiration and image matters most. Indulge in whatever perfectionism you want to, as long as you don't make life difficult for anyone else. Why not? I reveled in the planning, broke and rewrote traditions, and focused on every detail that excited me. Many people will see this as "stressing." But if you aren't a bridezilla, you have no apologies to make. Focus on every detail that compels you. When it all comes together, your soul will beam through the fabric of the night. Most hilarious moment from your day? I think we laughed the hardest when Andrew and I were cutting the cake and 4-year-old Tennyson ran up to the window beside us, pressed his face to the glass, his eyes wide with pure, ravenous desire for that cake, then realized everyone was watching him and ran away. It was just so adorable we couldn't stop laughing! What was the best thing you did in preparation from your wedding? We got married on a Friday, and since there were no events that Thursday, we were able to set up a day early. Then our ceremony didn't start until 7pm, so we had so much leisure time there was nothing to stress about! I thoroughly expected the day to fly by like everyone said it would, but we were able to take it easy and savor it. Where did you go on your honeymoon? We went to Riviera Maya, Mexico and had an incredible time! Anything else you'd like to share about your wedding? One thing I'm SO happy we did- we hired a great photographer! The biggest comfort was knowing our favorite moments were being artfully crafted, captured and preserved for us. Aww. I did NOT tell her to say that. :)
