This family of 3 (soon to be 4!) is clearly full of love and strength. I had a blast capturing them at this stage. Silas was insanely well behaved. He took a minute to warm up to me and I love all the snuggles his hesitations created. Silas is a heart-melter. I would be surprised if Sarah was not constantly bombarded with compliments about her well-mannered, stinking adorable, red-haired boy. She and Josiah are clearly killin' this parenthood thing. This session created lots of favorites but this above shot is definitely a contender. Any regular blog readers tuning in?! Ya'll know I love how photo has connected me to people from my past. Well, hold on tight because I met Sarah through some crazy circumstances. Our grandmas are sisters! Sarah grew up in Minnesota (as did our grandmas). I grew up in Ohio. A few years ago Sarah ended up living one town over from me in Ohio. Turns out she is a ridiculously talented photographer and we've teamed up to shoot a few weddings together! Scroll down to see our grandmas & hear some more wild facts - including that we are both expecting baby girls before the end of the year! I don't want to hijack this entire blog with backstory. ;) Sarah, your eyes are GORGEOUS. I do capture more 'traditional' shots throughout sessions but I don't typically blog them. My favorite images are those filled with personality that will make you smile (or cry) BIG in 30 years. Josiah, Sarah & Silas - thanks for being troopers and hanging out! Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I can't wait to meet your little one. She is clearly getting an AWESOME family and Silas will step into his big-bro role seamlessly. Josiah & Sarah - married 7 years, May 15, 2011 Silas - 4 years old Baby Girl - coming December! Silas- goofy, kind, smart, loving, generous Josiah - creative, authentic, gracious, dry humor, cooler than me ;) Sarah - strong, intuitive, honest, loving, entrepreneur Mom's Job: Photographer, Coffee Roasting Business Owner Check out Sarah's Coffee on Facebook! Dad's Job: Pastor My grandma is on the left, Sarah's grandma on the right, 1940.
Sarah and I didn't know each other until she ended up in Ohio a few years back. Her husband is a CMA pastor and started working at a church in my small hometown that my dad, a CMA pastor, helped start. Our grandmothers' father was also a CMA pastor. Sarah and I are both wedding/family photographers, married our husbands within months of each other, and are about to have our second babies! There are also a bunch of other odd facts like our husbands both skateboard and we had our first babies by c-section. I'm 89% sure Sarah thinks I'm a little wacky for loving this backstory but she is gracious enough to entertain my wacky.
