Julie and Zachary are wildly kind, ambitious, and hilarious! I feel completely humbled I got to document this day. Julie got ready in her childhood room. My dad went to high school with Julie's parents & my husband and I went to high school with Julie. I mean, pretty cool, right?! Julie's family has always been so involved in our community. They are fiercely supportive of each other and anyone lucky enough to be in their circle. Zachary's mama loved her family BIG, it was very evident and so sweet. The bride's family home is down the road from the church, so after Julie was done getting ready she simply walked down the street to the ceremony. YAY, MARRIED! After the ceremony, we headed to the park that O'Falls is known for. Everything about this day held significance to the couple. I often warn brides when choosing this location because it can be tricky to maneuver around in a dress/heels. Julie simply reminded me "I'm an athlete" as she did some pretty impressive jumping over mud puddles. It is not for every bride, but it was perfect for Julie and Zack. How do you know you married the right guy? When he dominates the dance circle to an early 2000's boy band hit. Zachary and Julie, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your beginning. You guys are so much fun to be around and I feel lucky to know you. Maybe someday any future kids of ours will go to school together... only seems appropriate, AMIRIGHT?! ;) Ceremony: St. Mary of the Falls Reception: Ahern Banquet Center Coordinator: Lucy Balser Hair & Makeup: PHD Salon Florist: Precious Petals DJ: Michael Schultz Cake: Bee Knee's Cakes Wedding Dress: Vera Wang Bridesmaids Dresses: David's Bridal Programs: Hollo's What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Julie: I have two! Getting ready at the house I grew up in was one of the top memories. I was able to take pictures at home, get ready at home, and enjoy the special moments with my family. Walking down the aisle with my dad was incredible. We were able to see everyone, get a few laughs in together, and then meet Zack at the end of the aisle together. The entire day was completely unforgettable. Zack: Sitting at the ceremony and looking out at everyone was so special. It was amazing to see everyone that was there to support us from all walks of life. We both just took a deep breath and made sure to look around realizing how many different parts of our life were represented at one event. Any advice for future brides/grooms? Enjoy every moment. The entire day goes so fast. Take a chance to look around and see all the people that are there because they love you and support you. Take it all in, take some deep breaths, and just have fun. Remember why you get married- it's not all about the glamour and glitz- it's about the two people, and at the end of the day, you have a partner for life, than that is what matteres. Most hilarious moment from your day? Hopping over the mud down by the river when we were taking pictures! The groomsmen had to lead the way while the girls followed. What is the best thing you did in preparation for your day/on your wedding day? Ultimately, all we cared about was that at the end of the day, we were married. I think having that mentality made the entire day much less stressful and completely enjoyable. Julie: I made sure that I had some time just with my parents on the morning of the wedding. I was able to enjoy breakfast with them, and just reminisce about the past few years and my childhood. The day went by so fast, but I knew that I had some time with my parents even in the midst of all the chaos in getting ready. Zack: I mentally prepared myself for the changes that were about to take place in my life- from moving in together to making decisions as a team. Overall, we took deep breaths and just relaxed. Honestly, we both had so much fun, and we weren't worried about the little things. Where are you honeymooning? We are going to St. Lucia in June! Anything else? The day was perfect. It was definitely more emotional than I ever could have thought, but it was so incredibly special even through some tears. We couldn't have asked for a better day, and we are so thankful for the memories we made as we start our life together.
